I know this isnt the sports section but i believe Sir Bobby Robson is a man who a lot of geordies hold close to their hearts, and I back the petition for him to have the east stand named after him, after all he is a true geordie who has supprted the toon all his life.

What a joke the mags are! Near bottom of the league, fans who dont truely support their team 19000 midweek!!!!! Sunderland are far supperior. Most of you support comes from places like durham and hartlepool anyway!:D

It's a bit sad when all you can do is focus on our teething troubles we are having at the start of 08/09 season

I'd rather we flogged it for 50 million to who ever even a tyneside -tyneside -tyneside -tyneside -ney if Durex did it they could provide samples for all the co cks who have been prtesting in the name of the greedy bottler whpo left us recently,
They can put them on their heads and blow them up with their noses.

Here Here, Sir Bobby deserves to have a stand named after him, although Shearer is a legend, I think he should have to wait his turn. and give Bobby his own stand. He has done loads for the area (as has shearer) and he is such a gentleman with a kind heart
You can follow the link for info about his charity.

And what do we do if Joke ing Hear wins a league cup and F.A. cup double in a few years and maybe just maybe one day an owner of ours will venture to the wilds of NE Jockland and appoint a manager who can (given time) create what ome might consider a successfull team.
What do you do to honour him name the pitch after him??????????????
Enough of this over egging of any one can we just not do what my boss does and say thanks mate.
Oh by the way these folks are handsomly rewarded for the toils.

I think your missing the point. Bobby hasnt just done a one off winning the cup, It's whats he done over many years. His Charity work, his love of newcastle, His contribution to football over many decades and the great working class roots he has.
He definately should be named as one of the great geordies and surely must be one of a few deserving the stand named after him.

Someone told me that Tesco might want to call it "Tesco Stadium" but only if we play in blue and white stripes!:)
