I've just been looking at flats on the Tyne but am at a loss - there are so many being built and don't know whether or not to buy right now as some people are saying prices are dropping. The ones Im looking at are next the redguegh bridge. (on the gateshead side half built)--whats everyones thoughts

Hey, Why dont you check out St Peters Basin down from Wallsend, the flats look quite nice. As for flats falling - I can't see it. Even if they do over the next couple of yrs it not gonna be more than just a few grand--MY ADVICE- if you see what you like go for it,, but stick to the right side of the river tyne-the Newcastle one!

Felt I had to reply as a resident of the Gateshead side of the river. The view is defo better from my house. So you may like to reconsider.

Hehe...

I agree Helen you've got a great view of the toon from the gateshead side. By the way has anyone seen the new BokLok homes, and how much are they going for? I believe they are right next to Gateshead Stadium on the spot where the old fold area used to be. I drove past there the other month and couldnt believe the transformation to what it used to be. New flats and houses and they've got rid of all the old estate that was there.

The Boklok flats are really nice from the outside and are close to the metro station and to Tesco which is useful. However, they are still surrounded by lower socio-economic housing with people who will not and do not want to work.

I am not branding everyone the same, but in general that is how it is. Not sure what the flats are like inside, but from the outside they look spot on.

The new flats directly along the Tyne on Gateshead side are really nice. The ones that look onto the remains of the old wooden peer. It's not used now, but it is still huge. My cousin used to have a flat there and I really liked it. He moved and rarely used it so sold it. They were pretty expensive too from what I remember, but nice little setups.
