I heard today that a flat was sold at auction here for £78000. The same flat apparantly was sold for £142000 in 2006. What a drop. I would rather live there for 78k than a tyneside flat outside the city. Anyone else heard of such a drop?

Is that really true? Maybe it was owned someone who has gone bankrupt and the creditors have just flogged it off - but then again....the market value is what people will pay, i cant believe its gone for £78k thats a bargain.

me wife's friend she is renting there at 700 quid per month thats like only an 11 year mortgage at those sort of payments.

Mind she has no bus fares
