Gypsies Green South Shields (Hotel)?

Does any one else feel strongly about the huge hotel thats to be built at the gypsies green site in South Shields? Why can't they just keep it as open space or at worst low level buildings instead of the proposed blight they are planning. IWhat next? will the developers get the green light in the future to build on the green on the way to Marsden Rock? I hope not!

Come off it Julie. Having lived in South Shields all of my life I strongly believe that the area needs some good commercial / leisure development. The front looks like a tip at the moment and some quality hotel can only improve the sea front and attract a better class of people to the area.!!!!!
