Looks like the housing market in the North East could be bottom-ing out! The news says that the North East has taken a battering in house prices--might be a good time to buy now? Wonder what Sarah Mains and Pattinsons opinions are!

I would have thought it's a good ime to buy...Have you seen how cheap some of the houses and flats are around sunderland road and bensham...my mate bought a flat on king edward (off sunderland road) in gateshead. street a few years back for 70k now there are others on the street going for about 40k....

I personally think prices are gonna drop further ..specially in 3 bed+ houses...people are still asking daft money for them when not many people can afford it..like £200k for a 3 bed semi!

No chance if first time buyer...unless you have £50k coming in. I think they will fall another 10% at least over next 2 years..when interest rates gan up again this will also put a bit of pressure on.
