Hiya all, new here so pls be gentle!

Saw a property in Bensham last week which was nice however the vendor mentioned there is a big regeneration prog in the Ghead city centre. Although I look at the council website would appreciate the views of local residents.

Also the property appears to be in a prodominately jewish area. Again would like to know what the local community like as I'm not jewish. I dont wish to offend anyone by my query.

Many thanks

Which street did you see the property?

The Jewish Community in Gateshead have contributed greatly to bensham and shipcote and the area over the years. I very much doubt you would have any problems living next to these guys.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. The property was located on Prince Consort Road nr Granville Street. I've always lived in a community felt area and not sure how openly this would be thus the reason for my query.

In relation to regeneration any pro/cons raised by the local people??

That area is ok, Ripon Street is a bit dodgy for some reason, Lincoln Street is alright and exeter street is probably the best one.

I dont think theres much of a community feel around there in particular as a lot of the people are tenants that come and go.:)

Close to town though!
