I know Gateshead FC are doing well this season which is fantastic. Does anyone know what league they would get promoted to and how many leagues they are away from the second division. How good would that be Gateshead playing football league!

James- You'd be surprised gateshead actually played in the football league for over 40 years until they were booted out in the 60's. Gateshead is one of the biggest towns in England, has the population, the stadium and possibly some cash. They even beat liverpool in the fa cup once!!

Gateshead also got to the quarter final of the fa cup once, in the 50's. They got knoed out by Bolton wanders by a 1-0 score and the goal was scored by nat lofthouse. Gateshead actually knocked out liverpool at anfield in the 5th round, now i bet you all didnt know that!

Have to say being in a higher league and the lose of Brayson and two other toon exiles mean its gona be a harder year hope we can pull though and get promoted again but relegation is to be avoided at all costs.

Its a dream of mine to see Gateshead in the football league.

HOW GOOD WOULD IT BE IF THEY COULD GET THERE? The stadium is fairly decent with good facilities, easily accessible on the felling bypass, could do with a bit more parking though. I spose with bigger crowds improvements would be made all round, but well done to the new owners and of course the manager and players
