Unbelievable today with the banks top ecexs and ex ecexs being quizzed today. Can you belive that it was reported today the ex chief exec of HBOS is being paid consultacy fees STILL of £60k every month. Even though he made some big mistakes in the running of the bank and contributed to the state of the economy.
Their apalogies today for me wasnt good enough.

I heard my M.P. claiming today that one of the problems with not getting bonuses is that these people would leave and therefore the banks would lose top quality staff who can help them get out of this mess. Unfortunately these peopel are not top quality these are the folks who got uas in to this mess by taking big risks.
I'm some numpty from gateshead but even i could tell that RBS was just trying to be a big guy in a big guy's world when it went to pinch the ABN AMRO deal from under the noses of Barclays it eventually only won because it paid about 10 billion more than the bank had agreed as a fair price with Barclays.
So for gods sake M.P. don't think of me as thick.

these guys have been ripping us off for years so it strikes me as poor from our behalf as customers thatwe haven't got upset about things like humungus bonuses in the past. Or do we have a perception that as a few of are suffering now lets shaft the rich.
Heres a story for you a few of us were struggling 30 month ago when every one else was happy didn't care then did we.

I had a couple of thousand invested in shares and now they total £800. I know it's not a fortune like some people have lost but to me its loads, and i know i took the risk in the first place but i never imagined they would fall like they did.
