Just a quick rant - I'm so fed up of all this housing talk. Overall I think if prices go down it will be better for most people. Sales over the last 2 years have slowed down, therefore most people got on the housing ladder more than 3 years ago. Even if prices go down 15% most people will still have equity. Even if you move the next house is still going to be the same price proportionally. The real losers are gonna be those who remortgaged up to the hilt to pay for fancy holidays and cars and to be honest ive no sympathy! Oh nearly forgot - and the buy to letters who thought theyd jump on a very long badwagon and makesome "easy money".

Nah I reckon house prices will go up a bit this year. I cant see them going down where i live in Jarrow. Plenty of houses with sold signs on them.

HSC - I agree that house prices are going down but do think thats a bit of a generalisation. Different regions in the UK are seeing different shifts as are different types of properties. I personally think that new build flats will be on their backside soon, if not already. Certain areas in the UK are still rising though whilst others are going down. And....lets face it the £100k terraced houses in the north of england wont drop that much if they do Surely!

nobody was sick of house price talk when they were going up---
how many people were saying..."I bought my house for £150k and now its worth £220k" Why aren't these same people saying "oooooo ive lost £35k on my house in just 18 months" mmmmmmmm? tough!!!

I sold my house in November of 2007 and the cash has been tied up in a bond paying a whacking great return. Sorry but it hasn't upset us all. I am just sick that lots of people think they have lost something when in reality they never had it in the first place. Don't worry those prices will return by the time you want to sell< that is unless you have to sell soon, if not sit tight and get rid of that capital

any body be sick of house prices we have been encouraged to put all our store by the investment we have in property ever since the cofuired queen from finchly got into power and now you expect us not to be bothered the money we have in our houses relates exactly to when we can retire where we can go on holiday what car we drive etc etc it's affecting our every major decision. Were sick of it alright but we can't avoid it.
