In April I shall be moving to the area as I have a new job in Newcastle. :)

Any advice on where I should get a place to live? Somewhere which is easily accessible to town would be good. I have a 5 year old daughter so a flat is no good really for me. Places to avoid and good places would be good.

Thanx

As most of the dwellings are flats there's not many burgalries and of course the palce is littered with CCTV so there's not much muggings or fights etc.

Also dear close to all the best shops and the wine bars.

PM me i'll show you around.

Hi,

If you want a nice area, Id say Gosforth or Jesmond, with you having a daughter maybe the city is not ideal for you???

Or In Gateshead there are some nice area like eighton banks, might be a bit far out but lowere prices. Some parts of lowfell are good with good transport links to the city.

The other south side of the river tyne has lower rents (not as good schools I believe tho)

Yes Low Fell is fab I mean the houses are very expensive the schools perform at around average there used to be a very good one but they pulled it down for more very expensive housing. And of course it does attract a lot of people to its bars who then like to role about a bit at around 11 pm fridaty night.

Me and my partner have our eye on where we want to live and its just behind landsdowne Terrace/Gosie high st in one of those massive tererraces. seems like a good place to bring up the kids. with lots to do and plenty of local stuff

Gosforth / Jesmond has to be one of the best places to be at. Good schools, more expensive, but close to the city with good local shops too around both gosforth high street and jesmond high street. Metro only minutes from newcastle monument station too.

Where will you be working?

I've a couple of friends that live there. Good communal areas for kids to play and they tell me it's a friendly community. Plus easy access to the city centre. Good value for your money all round I'd say compared to Jesmond or something.

Well it was reported today that loads of drug plants were found in a raid on a house in market lane in dunston, gateshead!

Is that just a bad part of dunston or just a one off?

Where I live in Wallsend is safe enough, with no real troble flying around, and its a good laugh with all the neighbours looking out for each other. I love wallsend and wouldnt live anywhere else.

If your new to the area I'd recommend Authurs Hill or Benwell (After Jesmond). Great Community Spirit and as safe as houses.

This has to be one of the safest placest to live, loads of cctv safe secure entrances into the aprtments and good deals can be ahd on the rents. St Annes Quay is my favourite.

Only if your renting and even then if your just starting to look now some of my mates nare stuck with horrendous rates. I wouldn't buy here for all the tea in China
