Are you 2 having a little giggle. Gateshead's looking fine these days, well apart from the get carter car park, which thankfully is getting pulled down right now, once that area is done and the area around the town hall is done you guys will be well impressed and be proud to be associated with gateshead......anyway i think we shouldnt let the river tyne divide us.

As for being part od sunlan, please thats an awful thing to suggest....:D

We got the metro centre.

You can keep the metrocentre it just doesn't compare to the buzz of a real city centre

Thats right, the buzz of the city around monument and northumberland street is wicked. Cold breezes, bustling workers, good coffee shops. Hammers Metrocentre all day long.

Much prettier buildings to look at as well.

Yes Newcastlde is better but really the two places are just one with the folks of Gateshead contibuting to all the good about the toon by working socialising and of course drinking there.

So where this anomosity comes from i'll never know i thought we all were together in disdain for those from weirdside and that really that was just a bit of light hearted fun.

get a grip folks.

It is in fact now NewcastleGateshead and Im really proud to be part of this area. The people in Gateshead for example live closer to the toon than say long benton or north shields ect. Dustons only a couple of mile from monumment and the baltic flats are a stone throw away. All good for banter though, However, Gateshead is better and have more newcastle fans. :)

Well the lads from gateshead that iv worked with have evry right as much as people who live in newcastle...

didnt the word geordie come from the lamp that was used by miners, infact the first lamp of its kind was used in the pit at felling.

No Geordie comes from ancient times well ancient times to you and me, it comes from the loyalty shown by the people of Newcastle to King George.

Or

it comes from the lamp.

Or

from when another King George opened the the Tyne bridge in the early 20th century.

However thething we need to know is wherever it came from

GEORDIES ARE FROM NEWCASTLE NOT GATESHEAD
LOL
