I actually work in Northumberland but couldn't get there yesterday because of the weather. Its a bit awkward to get there on the bus and in fact would ahve taken nearly 2 hours via 3 buses. Should I get paid for the day as I did call the boss and say i could work from home she said no it was ok.
I'm never off work ill - just wondering if i am entitled to the days pay or not.

Its not your employers fault either - if they saud you can have 20 times your normal pay you'd get to northumberland no matter what., is it really true to say you can't get there, maybe you just don't think it is worth the effort - however you still expect them to get the money to pay you. You have to remember your employers also didnt earn any money from you that day!

I would say though--if you did get to work and your boss sent you home then they should pay you.:) more money for the quayside eh?

WHERE the hell do you live this is tyneside forum not London forum.
Congrats on the extra effort you made we'll done.
However knowing the cash, benefits and pensions which public sector workers recieve then sorry if i don't feel to bad for you after all in real terms it is only either 46% or 64% of one days pay which you lose.

But having said that i am happy your not using my cash to sit around on a PC and am glad it doesn't pay folks for not going to work.
I do like the idea of a nurse taking good care of me though so thanks for choosing your career path.
Though wasn't impressed when i was last in and it was a lad i went to school with wot was running the ward
