Stag do's hen do's - are we heading the same way as Blackpool and Dublin? Gangs of Rugby lads showing there bums ,,,please! What happened to the good old days of Quayside?

Personally i don't know what your talking about Newcastle has always been a noisy bang the drums type of city that we are now a destination of choice for those wanting a let yer hair down weekend. That comes from our historical culture.

however that is not all newcastle, we have for many years had lots of high brow people looking down on us and i say stuff them the good thing about the visitors is they don't half like to rare it up.

Had a cultural weekend in Newcastle myself recently..My wife also commented
on the different dialects/accents she heard from different groups of red faced
bloated youths.. So yes anyway ..I,m in aggreement with the input of many more different people/cultures to the city..if it means a more stimulating ,diverse and exciting conversation in our already overcrowded toon!

I think our cities nightlife is one of the best, i always have a great time on the odd occasion i get out. I think every city has now got its problem with clubs/bars.Although it worries me quite often that my kids are growing up in a different city to what i did, with people drinking at such a young age. I just hope they know better!

Just thought Id add to this...Newcastle is definately not the same city as it was in the 90's when i was a young lass going out (dont tell me mother!) At one point it was mainly congregated around the bigg market, and yes it was full of drunks but it was mainly all localish people. Ive nothing against outsiders coming into the area - far from it, I think it does the city good if it brings in money, as long as we dont start and depend on it. Anyway back to the point....Newcastle in my opinion is heading the same way as Dublin. (not blackpool)
